I have two more blogs to write - this one and another on the thirteenth. My departure letter is attached in this issue of the E-Courier and it expresses my feelings very clearly. I am a member of several genealogical websites. I got a message one day that my grandparents' names had been found on a new collection of documents that they had available. The collection: Jewish Holocaust Memorials, and Jewish Berlin residents from 1933-1945. I looked at what the website provided. Have you ever been asked what your favorite song is? Music seems to be something that speaks to the soul of so many people. Be it a sad song after a break-up or possibly a song of celebration. I recall during the medal ceremonies during the Olympics when the camera would zoom in on people tearing up as their nation’s national anthem was played … music has an ability to speak to us. Homecoming
The summer season of 2021 is nearly behind us. Autumn will soon be here with its beautiful colors, with cooler temperatures, with seasonal vegetables like pumpkins and squash, with special events and celebrations like Halloween, All Saints’ Sunday, Thanksgiving, and the beginning weeks of Advent. Change!?
We are returning to 10 am worship! Yay!! I think. I always find it hard to change times - be it spring ahead or fall behind - or move from 9 am back to 10 am. Though, I much prefer a 10 am service...even if it means I will not have that extra hour in the day to do whatever one does on a Sunday after church. (Nap).
