The Ghostlight Project

Thursday, January 19, 2017

Bootless Stageworks and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church joined theaters and playhouses across the nation in The Ghostlight Project declaring St. Stephen's and Bootless as safe places. Artists and community members pledged to create "a brave space" that will serve as a light in the community to all those wanting or needing respite.

A "brave safe space" is defined as a space where:

  • It is safe to be who you are, regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

  • Diverse opinions, dissent, and argument are not only tolerated, but invited.

  • Active listening and courageous exchange are fundamental values.

  • Collective action, activism, and community engagement, both within and outside the walls of the theater, are cultivated, encouraged, and supported.

You can read about the event on WDEL here and Town Square Delaware here.

We seek to live the truth written in Ephesians that Christ breaks down the dividing walls between us and makes us one.
