We have a name for this in the Church. We talk about it and its effect on our lives before God and with one another as fellow humans

It is called Original Sin

It is what we call our basic stance of “knowing better than God.”

An explanation of Original Sin is actually the second article of the Augsburg Confession, the first document to lay out Evangelical, that is to say, Lutheran theology.
