How We Worship

Our worship life is the core of what we do as a congregation. As part of the great tradition of the Church, our focus in worship is on God’s presence with us — in his Word and in his Sacraments. Worship at Saint Stephen’s is truly inclusive because our service is formed by our connection with Christians from around the World and throughout time.

We celebrate Holy Communion (the Eucharist) every week at both our main services. It is in this simple meal of bread and wine that we come into the presence of the risen Jesus Christ.  And at those services we hear God’s Word from the Bible and in messages that show the connection between that Word and our lives.

Our music ranges from the first generations of Christians to gather in the Roman Empire, to Bach, to the present day, including original compositions from our Director of Music, and songs and hymns from places like Tanzania and Madagascar.
